hospitality

Hospitality is a lost art. It is the act of inviting a guest (friend or stranger) into your home for food, drink, lodging, or care. Once, the practice of hospitality was at the heart of the Church. Now, most folks treat it as optional. Missio Dei is trying to bring hospitality back into our lives (sometimes awkwardly). Missio Dei operates a hospitality house that always has at least one spare bed for someone needing a place to stay. We also have a larger scale hospitality meal every Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Our hospitality house is located at:

3312 31st Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55406

hospitality trainWe also have a sort of “mobile” hospitality meal during on Saturdays called the Hospitality Train. The idea is simple: we load up our bike trailers and trikes, bringing fresh ingredients and high quality portable cooking equipment to feed people good food. Along with food preparers/servers, we are sometimes joined by musicians who will play as we serve food. We do this around noon on Saturdays on the West Bank, though less frequently during the winter.
